Closing The Gap in Health Care, Inc. (CHGHC, Inc.)

The mission of Closing the Gap in Health Care, Inc. (CGHC, Inc.) is to decrease health disparities by providing information to under-served populations. Minority patients have received poor health care in every facet that has been studied. Minorities, specifically African Americans and other under-served populations, also have poor lifestyle habits that contribute significantly to negative outcomes. There is a great need to reach and educate these populations about all aspects of health care. CGHC, Inc. is composed of several health activities which educate the targeted population about a variety of information ranging from diabetes, cholesterol, and mental health care to weight control, stress relief, and preventative medicine. Health information is provided through radio broadcast and summits at churches, schools, and community programs. CGHC, Inc. also provides a free weekly Health-E-Newsletter to over 1,900 email subscribers.
